Dial FMS Client Application

The Dial FMS Client is a very easy to use, remote access into your Metasys Facility Management System.  It requires that you have the Dial FMS Server Application installed on a Metasys OWS.  All you need to know is the phone number of the OWS's modem and a valid password.

Dial FMS Server Application

The Dial FMS Server is a data retrieval and command issuing application giving you remote access to your Metasys Network.  This application gets installed on any Metasys Operator Workstation on the network.  The only requirement is the OWS must have a modem and phone line connection.  You can connect to the Dial FMS Server using the Dial FMS Client application or Windows HyperTerminal (HyperTerminal comes free with any version of Windows).

HyperTerminal Interface

Using the standard Windows HyperTerminal you can access network data from any where.  The available commands are as follows:

Help - This will bring up a help screen telling you how to get help for each command.

Get - The Get command is what you use to get Systems, Objects or Groups.

Command - This is the command to issue commands to objects that have been setup to accept commands from the Dial FMS Server.

Bye - This disconnects you.

Connecting is very easy.  Just launch HyperTerminal and set it up for 57600, 8 bits, No parity and 1 stop bit then dial the number.  You will be asked for a password before you can access data.
