Metasys stores the trend data it collects in what is called a PCFile.  This is a collection of DBase III formatted databases.  All trend data for an object is stored in one database file. This file just continues to grow larger and larger.   Metasys does not provide a good way of archiving this data on a long term basis.  The Trend Data Manager takes the trend data for one month from the PCFile for all objects and stores them in a Microsoft Access Database.  The database is named with the year and month as a part of the database name.  This provides an easy method of archiving and retrieving the data.  The User Interface is very easy to use and provides summary information of High value, Low value and Average value for the date range specified.  The data retrieved can be copied to the clipboard and pasted into Excel for the advanced graphing capabilities.
