Custom Computer Systems This application will monitor a list of objects and if a Critical alarm is received, a user defined Binary Output will be commanded ON to sound a horn or turn on a warning light. When the application starts, the About screen is displayed for four seconds then disappears. The application is loaded into the System Tray as red triangle icon
Right clicking on the red triangle icon gives you the following:
Open Alarm Notifier displays the application screen shown below. Double-clicking on the icon does the same. Hide Window will hide the application screen. About… shows the About window. Close is the only way to terminate the application. Using the X in the title bar will only hide the window. Using File then Exit will also only hide the application. Setup Tab
The Watch List is a list of System\Object names that are being monitored for Critical alarms. When one is received, the Alarm Binary Output system\object is commanded ON. To add objects to the Watch List, Click on the Add Objects button. You will be presented with a list of Systems and Objects to select from. See next page. Clicking on the Setup button will allow you to enter the System\Object name of the Alarm Binary Output. You will also be able to select the command priority of the start command. There are ON and OFF buttons to test for proper operation of the Alarm BO. The Alarm Off button will turn the Alarm Binary Output OFF. Clicking on the Add Objects button changes the Setup tab to look like this.
You can add an entire system to the Watch List by clicking on the system name in the Systems list and then clicking on the Add to Watch button. If you want to select individual objects, click on a system name to narrow the list to only objects in that system, then click on the System\Object name you want to add and click the Add To Watch button. You can narrow down the list to just objects of a certain type by clicking on the Only Object Type check box and selecting the object type from the combo box below the check box. When the Only Object Type checkbox is checked, only the selected object type is displayed in the System\Object list. When the checkbox is not checked, all object types are displayed. After adding all System\Objects to the Watch List, click the Save button to save your changes. Clicking the Cancel button will return the list to what was in it before your additions. Activity

The Activity Log shows the following:
You can disable the logging feature by checking the Disable Logging checkbox. The data being logged is stored in a file named alarmntrpt.txt. When you click on the Clear List button the file alarmntrpt.txt is renamed to yymmdd-hhmmss.txt and the list is cleared. Clicking on the To Notepad button will load the file alarmntrpt.txt into Notepad where it can be printed if desired. See screen capture on the next page. Step 1
If the PC you are installing this on is not the Archive PC you must do one of the following options: Option 11. Upload Global. 2. Upload any NCs to this PC that you want objects from. 3. Go to a DOS prompt and type UNDDL FMS /Y. Note - Do not be concerned with errors. 4. Restart the Alarm Notifier application. You should now see Systems and Objects to add to the watch list when you click on the Add Objects button. Option 2Take the .UND files from the archive PC and copy them into the proper directory on the PC you are installing this software on. You will need the Net.und, global.und and any nc.und files you want objects from. The models.und file is not needed. Setup the Alarm BO System\Object Clicking the Setup button on the Setup Tab. Enter a valid BO System\Object name and select the desired command priority. You can now test the output by clicking the ON and OFF button and verifying proper operation. Step 3
Verify you have the Critical reports going to the PCFile called USER_APP on the OWS this software is installed on. Make sure each report group has the critical report types going to this file. Step 4Verify you have the Report Type - Alarm set to Crit1,
Crit2, Crit3 or Crit4 for each object that you want to watch. Step 5Build a GPL process to turn the alarm off when the user pushes the button to silence the alarm. '****************************************************
