Created by

Note - If the date and time right now was 12-24-03 6:30pm - yymmddhhmm.mdb would be 0312241830.mdb and yyyy-mm.mdb would be 2003-12.mdb

Clicking the Archive Button will:

1.  Stop M-Collector if it is running

2.  Close any M-Trend files currently opened

3.  Verify no trenddb.ldb exists.  If it does, warn user, execute step 6 then exit

4.  Rename trenddb.mdb to yymmddhhmm.mdb

5.  Copy the blank trenddb.mdb from the empty database directory to the active database directory

6.  Restart M-Collector if it was stopped

7.  Transfer all records from yymmddhhmm.mdb to the record’s proper yyyy-mm.mdb

8.  Delete yymmddhhmm.mdb

Clicking the Restore Button will:

1.  Copy selected yyyy-mm.mdb file to restore.mdb

2.  Stop M-Collector if it is running

3.  Close any M-Trend files currently opened

4.  Verify no trenddb.ldb exists.  If it does, warn user, execute step 7 then exit

5.  Rename trenddb.mdb to yymmddhhmm.mdb

6.  Rename restore.mdb to trenddb.mdb

7.  Restart M-Collector if it was stopped

8.  Transfer all records from yymmddhhmm.mdb to the record’s proper yyyy-mm.mdb *

9.  Delete yymmddhhmm.mdb

* Note – If you are restoring the current month’s yyyy-mm.mdb file, any records from the current month in yymmddhhmm.mdb are stored in trenddb.mdb instead of yyyy-mm.mdb.

Clicking the Delete Button will:

1.  Delete the selected archived file.

Data Manager for Access Historian Assumptions:

1.      The application uses the default path and filename for the active Trenddb.mdb file, which is “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Johnson Controls\M-Data\Access Historian\Active Database\Trenddb.mdb”.

2.      The application uses the default path and filename for the empty Trenddb.mdb file, which is “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Johnson Controls\M-Data\Access Historian\Empty Database\Trenddb.mdb”.

3.      The application stores the Archived data files (all yyyy-mm.mdb files) in the directory “C:\mtrendarchive”.  If this directory does not exist, the application will create it.

4.      This first version is built for M-Collector setups.  If you are using the N1 Trend Collector, you can still use this application, but you will have to manually stop the N1 Trend Collector first.  As soon as the application starts storing the records you can restart the N1 Trend Collector.  The next revision will automate these steps.

5.      If you would like to see more features in this application, you can contact me at david@davidhagemann.com.
