Report Notifier

Version 1.0

Custom Application Created by

Custom Computer Systems

For Johnson Controls, Inc

Clicking on File then Setup gives you the display below.

Acknowledge Alarm – This button will send a stop command to the alarm object.  An entry will be made in the report list showing the date and time that the report was acknowledged.

Clear List – This button will clear the list box.  The data that was in the list can be looked at in a text file named by the date.  Example - if today is Jan 15, 2001 and the clear list button was pressed, all data from the list would be stored in a text file call 01-01-15.txt (yy-mm-dd.txt).  If the Clear List button is pressed again on the same day, the addition entries will be appended to the same file.

To Notepad – This button will send whatever is in the list to Notepad for printing or saving.

The list box displays all critical messages that have been sent to USER_APP along with a record of when the Report Notifier application has been started or stopped.  Also listed will be reports generated by the integrity test.

Network Name – Enter the Network Name in this field.  This must match what is on the Network Map of Metasys PMI.

Report Type – This is the type of report that will be monitored by this application.  Report router in Metasys must be set to send this report type to the PCFile called USER_APP.

Setup Password – Enter the password you would like to use in order to get to this setup window.

The integrity of the application is automatically tested once a day to make sure the application is successfully talking to Metasys and Metalink.  It can also be tested any time by selecting FILE in the menu bar then INTEGRITY TEST.  The integrity test will command a test binary data point into alarm and verify proper reporting to the Report Notifier without sounding the alarm.

Test BD System\Object name – This is the Binary Data point that is used for the integrity test.  See Metasys side setup for more information.

Integrity Test Time – Enter the time you would like the automatic integrity test to run in 24hr format (6:00 for 6:00am, 14:05 for 2:05pm) .

Test Now button – This button will allow you to test the integrity of the application at any time.  You can also run the test from the menu bar by selecting FILE then INTEGRITY TEST.

Alarm BO System\Object – This is the Binary Output object that will be used to sound the alarm or light the light.

Command Priority – This determines the priority of the command sent to the Alarm BO object.   A level of 2 is the highest priority possible for a BO object.

Alarm Test ON button – This will test the Alarm BO object by sending it a Start command.

Alarm Test OFF button – This will test the Alarm BO object by sending it a Stop command.

Save button – This will save any changes you have made to the setup and hide the setup utility.

Close Without Restart – This button allows you to end the application without it automatically restarting itself, Metasys or Metalink. Because Metasys, Metalink and this application must stay running in order to properly report, this program will automatically restart any of the applications if they are terminated.  To prevent this, you must go into setup and press the Close Without Restart button.

When an alarm comes in, the background color flashes red.  This also occurs during the integrity test.
