Report Router Scheduler

Created by

Custom Computer Systems

This custom application allows you to have two different Report Router Destination Setups and schedule when to start using the selected Report Router Destinations.  The following pages describe how to setup and use this application.

The Status/Last Run field will display either the current action being taken or what the last action performed by the application is.

Report Router 1 option button will cause the Frame below to display the controls for Report Router 1.

Report Router 2 option button will cause the Frame below to display the controls for Report Router 2.

Save Online Destinations button will save the current Online Report Router Destinations to the currently selected Report Router setup.

The Add Day button will add another day to the All Day list.  This list will cause Report Router 2 to be in effect all day for every day in the list.  All Day takes precedence over the other schedules.

The Run Now button can be used to test the application after it has been setup.  It will change the Report Router Destinations to the selected Report Router Setup.

Weekdays (M-F) option button will cause the selected Report Router setup to only change on weekdays (Monday through Friday).

Every Day option button will cause the selected Report Router Setup to change and the selected time every day of the week (Sunday through Saterday).

Note -  Any Changes to the Days or Time will cause the Run Now button to change to a Save Days/Time button.  You must click on the Save Days/Time button to save the changes made.

From the Menu Bar if you select View, then Diagnostics the above window is displayed.

Each of the buttons displayed is a procedure that is performed when either the time has come for the automatic change in Report Router or the Run Now button is clicked.  You can run any procedure by clicking on the button.

Log off - This is done to guaranty that PMI is logged in with a level 2 password so the Global Upload and Global Download can be performed.

Log On - If not changed, the default password of METASYS is used.  This must be a level 2 or level 1 password.  You can change the password in the application to anything you like by clicking the Change Password button.  Again, make sure you are using a level 2 (recommended) or level 1 password.  When the Log On button is clicked, if you are already logged into PMI, it will automatically log you off then log you on.

Global Upload - A Global Upload is performed to make sure any online changes to the Global Database will be saved.  When the Global Upload is complete, the appropriate Report Router Databases are copied to the Global Archive.

Global Download - The Global Download is performed to get the appropriate Report Router Databases into the Online Global Database and also to distribute the appropriate Report Router changes to all nodes on the network.

View Errorlog – This will display the errorlog file that contains any runtime errors encountered while running.  It also lists when the application was started and stopped.

Change Password – Use this button to change the password to something other than Metasys.  When changing the password, you need to know the current password.  Remember the default password is METASYS.

Keep Records - This checkbox will keep additional records of what changes have been made in the application and when it is run.  These addition records are found in the errorlog.txt file.

This is the screen you will see when the automated Report Router change is about to be made.  The number will count down to zero then automatically run.  You can abort the automated procedure by clicking on the Cancel button.  Clicking on OK will cause the automated procedure to run immediately.

The Report Router Scheduler configuration file – rrsched.cfg

Below is a copy of the rrsched.cfg file.

Password(encrypted) -  The Password used is encrypted for security.  If you ever forget what it is and need to change it, delete the password line and restart the application.  The default password of METASYS will be used and you can then change it to a valid password on your network.

Report Router 1 - Lists the days and time that Report Router 1 will start.

Report Router 2 - Lists the days and time that Report Router 2 will start.

Run Invisible - This parameter determines if the application is visible or not.  If False, you can see the application.  If True, you will not see it when it is running.  You must manually change this in this file and restart the computer.

Last Run – Displays the last Report Router setup the application changed to along with the date and time it changed.
