Summary Tab

The summary tab will display the High value, Low value and Average value for the selected object on the selected date or date range.

Select Date – Your choice is to select 1 Day or a Date Range.

Select Object – As you select a system name in the pull down combo box, the names of the objects change to the objects in that system. Double-clicking an object name is the same as selecting the object and then clicking on the Get Data button.

Append to list – This check box will determine if the list is cleared each time new data is requested, or the new data is appended to the end of the list.

To Notepad – This button will take whatever is in the list below and load it into Notepad for printing or saving to a file. If the list is too large for Notepad, Wordpad will be used.

To Clipboard – This button will send whatever is in the list below to the clipboard. This allows you to paste the data into any program you wish (like Excel).

Clear Selection – This button will remove from the list above it, whatever is selected. You can use the shift key to select a range of items, or use the control key to select multiple individual items.

Clear List – This button will clear the list above it.

Setup Tab

The Setup tab is where you configure this application. You must supply the application with the information of where the Metasys data is located, where to store the collected data, when to automatically transfer the data and more.

Lock Setup – This button will lock the setup to prevent someone from changing things once they are properly setup. When locked, the caption on the button changes to Unlock. When you lock the setup, you will be prompted with the password needed to unlock the setup. You will also be given instructions on how to later find it.

Object list – This list will highlight the object that the application is collecting data for when the Transfer Now button is pressed.

Location of Trend Data Manager Files – This is where the application will store the collected data in the Access database files. The data is stored in file names that start with TD (for Trend Data) then reference the date of the data (example- the data for November 2000 will be stored in the Access database file called TDNOV-00.MDB) . If you click on the Change button, another box will appear that allows you to pick the drive and path where you want the data stored. If you change the location of the files, make sure to copy the files from the old location to the new location, otherwise you will not be able to get the older data.

Location of Metasys Data – You must properly define the correct Network Name, OWS Name and PCFile Name where the data is to be collected from.

Data Retrieval – This checkbox determines if the application automatically collects the data from the PCFile at the time specified in the combo box next to it.

Clear PCFile after transfer – This checkbox determines if the application deletes the data from the PCFile after storing it in the Trend Data Manager’s database file. Note – This only works if this application is on the same OWS as the PCFile.

Data Last Transferred – This textbox displays the date and time that the data was last transferred from the PCFile to the Trend Data Manager’s database file.

Transfer Now – This button, when clicked on, will transfer the data from the PCFile to the Trend Data Manager’s database file immediately.

Data Retrieval Report – This reports the data that was collected from the PCFile and stored in the Trend Data Manager’s database file.

To Notepad – This button will send the Data Retrieval Report to Notepad for printing or saving to a file.

Clear List – This button clears the Data Retrieval Report.
